Job Description

Main functions of the Role
- Monitor assessment and internal verification practice of FAQ Approved Centres;
- Ensure the consistency and reliability of assessment decisions across centres and time; and
- Maintain the quality standards set out for qualifications provided by FAQ.

Accountability
- Accountable to the Lead Verifiers/Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
- Conduct visits to potential or approved centres:

Advisory
– Initial visits to potential centres to give advise on the approval process and criteria.

    Approval
– To check the centre has the necessary resources and systems in place to meet the    criteria for centre approval.
    Verification – To monitor the work of approved centres as laid down in the FAQ External    Verification Strategy

- Carry out Familiarisation Training for new Facilitator/Assessors.
- Complete written reports following a visit to a centre.
- Maintain records of centre activity and communications with centres.
- Provide approved centres with appropriate advice and documentation supporting any action plan.
- Participate in appeals procedures and promote best practice.
- Maintain qualification and/or occupational competence to be able to credibly fulfil a verification role   on behalf of FAQ. - top

Qualifications/Training/Experience

Essential:
- Hold a current HSE First Aid at Work Certificate or recognised exemption.
- Hold a First Aid Trainer Certificate from a recognised National Training Provider.

• At least two years experience as an assessor/verifier and be able to demonstrate   competence in the external verification of the technical aspects of the subject area
  they are employed to externally verify.
• Have evidence of knowledge and understanding of the learning and assessment   outcomes of the qualifications to be verified.
• Broad understanding and awareness of current issues in first aid at national level.
• Be willing to travel up to 100 miles from home.

Desirable
Learning and Development Units A1 (D32, 33), V1 (D34) and V2 (D35) or equivalent qualifications or experience. - top

Terms and Conditions

Initial, Approval and Verification Visit - £120 incl mileage upto 100 miles, all paperwork prior to, during and after the visit.
Attend Verification Training Events Biannually.
There is no minimum commitment required. - top
